Interaction Analysis Supporting Participants' Self-regulation in a Generic CSCL System
نویسنده
چکیده
Interaction analysis can provide information directly to learners and teachers in order to assess and self-regulate their ongoing activity. Omega+ is a generic CSCL system that uses explicit models as parameters for flexibly supporting different kinds of collaborative applications. This paper describes Omega+ model-based generic approach for supporting participants’ selfregulation through interaction analysis. Some quantitative and qualitative results obtained with the proposed approach are discussed.

Customizable Computer-based Interaction Analysis for Coaching and Self-Regulation in Synchronous CSCL Systems
Computer-based interaction analysis (IA) is an automatic process that aims at understanding a computermediated activity. In a CSCL system, computer-based IA can provide information directly to learners for selfassessment and regulation and to tutors for coaching support. This article proposes a customizable computerbased IA approach for a generic synchronous CSCL system, that is, a system that ...
متن کاملInteraction Analysis for Supporting Students' Self-Regulation during Blog-based CSCL Activities
Self-regulated learning is an important means of supporting students’ self-awareness and self-regulation level so as to enhance their motivation and engagement. Interaction Analysis (IA) contributes to this end, and its use in studying learning dynamics involved in asynchronous Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) activities has rightfully increased in recent years. This paper prese...
متن کاملSupporting synchronous collaborative learning: A generic, multi-dimensional model
Future CSCL technologies are described by the community as flexible, tailorable, negotiable, and appropriate for various collaborative settings, conditions and contexts. This paper describes the key design issues of a generic synchronous collaborative learning environment, called Omega+. In this approach, “model-based genericity” is applied to the four dimensions of collaborative learning: the ...
متن کاملThe role of roles in the analysis of interactions in collaborative environments
Analysis of interactions has become a basic function in the field of collaborative learning, as a means for supporting both students self-regulation as well as formative evaluation processes. However, we observe a lack of methods and tools for the analysis of interactions in CSCL that considerer the different roles implied in collaboration management processes, both from the point of view of t...
متن کاملMotivational Beliefs, Self-Regulation and EFL Listening Achievement: A Path Analysis
Informed by the expectancy-value and social cognitive theories of learning, the present study proposed a path model to investigate the impact of motivational beliefs as defined by listening self-efficacy, three types of goal orientations, and task value on self-regulation of Iranian EFL learners, in addition to the unique contribution of each to the variability in the listening comprehension sc...
